Things to Do In October Half Term // The Brighton Edition

Now the children are getting older and I’m a more confident parent getting them out of the house I have been looking for things locally to get us out this half term. Today’s an inset day in Brighton and for us this means a PJ day! Who doesn’t want to celebrate a week of no school runs by hanging out and catching up with the general family house stuff.

The following week though we are looking forward to so many things that I thought I would pop down what I have found.

Chomp – this brilliant charity helps families who struggle financially during the school holidays. They encourage families to come and play together as well as sit down for a hot meal. You can find where their sessions are here.

Stoneham Park is having a Halloween Festival on Saturday 26th October with pumpkin carving and crafts. This event starts at 11am.

The North Laine are hosting a Trick or Treat trail for kids from Town on 26th October.

On October 29th and 30th Sew Fabulous is hosting a Day of The Dead sugar skull sewing workshop from 4pm. It costs £12 but includes all materials and refreshments (proper coffee!) Sew Fabulous can be found at the Open Market.

The amazing Strike A Light are hosting Halloween at the Open Market. Pop down from 1-4pm on the 31st for Trick or Treat and some amazing workshops! This has been on our calendar for ages!

Post Halloween fun the lead up to Christmas can officially start so we are going to pop down to our first Christmas market on the 3rd November!

Let me know what events you are going to next week too. I’m seeing Margaret Atwood talk at Brighton Dome next week as my adult night out and this saturday sees a Halloween Spellbound at Komedia!
