The Home Spruce Up: Little Things Make A Big Difference

Although it may need a huge renovation, sometimes you just won’t have the money to do it. So, instead do something small that costs less but still gives off the feeling that you have done something large and wholesale. It may mean a bit of work on your part, but if you want to change things up it needs to be done. You really don’t need to spend a fortune to give your home the spruce up it deserves. Here are some hints and tips to help you get started.

Flooring

Getting the whole floor changed out for wood costs a lot of money, so stay with the carpet. There are some great cheap carpets for sale which you can make the use of, or, if you don’t want a new carpet consider going for a larger mat which can cover a wide portion of the floor. Sure, the old carpet will still be there but at least some of it is covered up now. Bathroom flooring can be quite cheap too. Lino flooring is fine and can totally change the look of it with ease. Carpet has benefits too. It keeps the dust settles so that it doesn’t visibly stick to everything else like it does with a wooden floor. Flooring can be a quick and relatively inexpensive way to make a difference.

Fresh Paint

Again, easy and fairly cheap. Give the room in question a fresh coat of paint. It can even be the same colour that it already is because it will still look nicer than before, adding brightness and vibrancy. But for the best change go for a different colour. You can even paint walls different colours or wallpaper one wall and paint another giving your room a quirky yet matching appearance. It’ll feel like a totally new room with little expense. It may be a slight pain, having to move and cover all of the furniture but for a quick spruce up this really does the trick.

Garden

With Spring fast approaching it can be time to head out into the garden. Start planting now and you will reap the benefits come Spring and Summer. The garden is so easy to change and make a difference to. Just plant plants in corners. Make sure they are of a bright colour to add that extra splash to your garden. If you have a wide paving stone area then get a jet washer out. They are cheap to rent and can leave your patio looking new.

Rearrange
You can give any room a change by rearranging it. Move your TV and sofas around, see if you can come to  to a better arrangement. This coupled with new paint will look totally brand new. It may be disorientating at first but it can be a little change that goes a long way. The same applies to your pictures and photos. Move them around, look at the window and use the light in a better way.to brighten up your room.
