Stay At Home Mum? Stay Healthy

If you are a stay at home mom then it is a full-time job that demands all of your time and attention. However, because of the business of your role it can sometimes be hard to keep on top of staying fit and healthy. It is something that may bypass you. But, if you take the time to stay fit and healthy, then your children will learn from you and will want to be healthy, too. Therefore, it is an important aspect of being a full-time mom. You keep on top of your health and your children will also be educated in how to live in a healthy way, and that can only be a good thing.

Even though finances can be tough at times, especially with children to feed and look after, an important part of staying healthy is allowing your home to expose that. A vital part of keeping your health in a good condition is enabling your home to be warm and welcoming, with water line freeze protection. Another aspect is keeping your home clean and tidy, and eliminating any potential risks of illness such as bacteria and germs.


While driving may be the faster and easier option in most situations, walking is the better option. If you’re doing a quick task try to walk or even use a bicycle to get there instead of driving. Not only can you feel great about getting exercise, but you are helping the environment at the same time as well.

Discover ways to embrace your children in your workouts, let them join in. This is a great way to show your children that exercising is fun.

Cleaning is something that you will always have to do and is often an excuse busy mums use to get out of exercising. However, you can turn your daily responsibilities into a workout. Do your chores with more liveliness or turn on your favorite music and dance while you clean.

There is no need to spend a lot of your money on buying exercise equipment, like weights. You can just use everyday household items. When you’re making cereal for your children do a few curls with a carton of milk. Milk can be heavy, depending on what size carton you buy, and a gallon for example is the perfect amount of weight to help tone your muscles.

You do not have to travel far to get expert advice from a fitness instructor. Libraries and websites have tons of fitness videos that you can watch whenever you have the time, or whenever you want to, making it easy for you to work out in the comfort of your own home.

Fitness is a great way of interacting with your children while staying healthy and having fun. More moms are keeping fit at home, as it is easier, cheaper and allows them to still be at home with their children. Also, by doing it with your children, they will copy you and learn quickly that fitness is a fun thing to do.
