#SaturdaySoundtrack // Steph from MentalParentals.com

Steph is a busy family lifestyle blogger over at MentalParentals.com, also known as “Mummy” to her 4 year old son, O. Her blog captures their family life in the Lake District, special family moments and pregnancy updates as baby 2’s arrival draws ever closer. Here is her saturday soundtrack! Get dancing!

  1. Feeling Good – Muse

This was the track we chose for our first dance when my husband and I got married. Well, technically we used the Michael Buble cover, but we wanted (and should’ve used) the Muse version. We were worried about our older relatives not appreciating it, but now I look back I think it was my wedding day and I chose to put other’s thoughts before mine. Rookie mistake. At least it’s an excuse to renew our vows…

2. The Show Must Go On – Queen

One of my favourite tracks of all time, by one of my favourite bands of all time. I’m devastated that I’ll never get to see the original Queen lineup in concert.

3. Photograph – Ed Sheeran

Really like this song. I think Ed is a real talent found in among a sea of over-produced and commercialised music artists. The video that goes with this track shows how he’s grown up loving music and trying to break the scene from such a young age. I am a bit in awe of him, and would love to see him in concert.

4. Defying Gravity – Idina Menzel/Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked Soundtrack)

I’m a massive Musicals geek. I’ve been on stage since I can remember, danced since I could walk, and sang since I could speak. Wicked is one of my favourite musicals at the moment, along with West Side Story and 42nd Street.

5. The Pretender – Foo Fighters

Last but not least, another of my favourite bands of all time. I need not say much, but that the Foo’s are a fantastic band who are amazing performing live and are pretty much perfect.

What is on your playlist this weekend?
