Review // Hape Playtime Piano

As a musical family we are one family that don’t shy away from musical instruments at Christmas time. We are really lucky that the children engage with music and love to sing as well as try to play. That’s why when Hape offered to send us their Hape Playful Piano we could not help but yelp yes!

The piano is quite obviously gorgeous to look at. It is wooden and the paint is durable too. It has been bashed about so surprisingly there have been no chips in the paintwork.

It is aimed at aged 3 plus which is perfect for our youngest son. He can sit at the piano quite well and have a play on it without having to ask for help. We have it on show so that he can have access to whenever he wants to, however his older siblings do edge in not he fun too!

Our 8 year old mastered twinkle twinkle little star much to her brother’s delight. The box included a little chart that helps you to play simple tunes. The keys do make a lovely clink sound and are easy for little hands to play.

I am keen to extend the boys musical education and I think this is a perfect and simple way without feeling too pressured into playing. The red colour draws them to it and they have sat playing after school in the twinkle of the Christmas tree. It feels quite magical watching them learn on the piano!

The Hape Playful piano retails at £70 but some places have it for around £60, it arrives ready to play put of the box! I thunk this a perfect gift for any budding musician this Christmas (and maybe their parent too!). Does your little one love to play music and what is on their Christmas list to Father Christmas?
