On Wednesday evening Fizz and I were invited to a Mummy and Daughter night out at Brighton Theatre Royal. We have been working with them for around 12 months now on reviewing what is on throughout the year for both kids and grown ups. During Summer holidays it is such a treat to have 1 to 1 time with each child. When we saw that Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was coming to town I knew Fizz would be jumping for joy.
When Fizz was around 3 years old and during that repetitive phase of watching the same film over and over again Chitty Chitty Bang Bang had it’s time on repeat. I couldn’t wait to see what she thought of the musical.
We had seats in the stalls and 8 rows back. We had a good view of the stage and Fizz never complained about not being able to see so it was a perfect spot if you have kids.
From opening to closing curtain Fizz grinned from ear to ear. Exclaiming ‘ is that a real dog’ (yes they are!) to a quick cuddle at the child catcher. The whole show was a magical treat from beginning to end. With humour and fun apparent throughout. We would definitely recommend going to see this show. The whole cast were absolutely brilliant which incredible talent from the child actors, inspiring for the kids in the audience I expect.
What made the night just that bit different from any other show is that we noticed the choreographer in the box opposite us clapping, cheering giving the thumbs up to the children on stage. We also had 2 audience members up on stage for a very special proposal.
All in all we had a fabulous night!
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is running Wednesday 21st August until Saturday 24th August with showings at 2:30pm and 7:30pm. Tickets start at £13.
