Return to work depression

I have what I am going to call PMLD (post maternity leave depression).

I didn’t struggle with my return to work when my first month was two or three days I week. I managed the time well and it worked as equal measures between work and home life.

I have been off sick twice since my return to work, both genuine. The myth of children’s nurseries being full of bugs is actually true for mums returning to work. You pick up bugs a lot easier than you did before pregnancy.

I am now back four days a week and have struggled with the life/work balance that I had with the equal days. I felt down about not rolling around the floor playing with Fizz. I missed her standing unsupported for the first time.

I’m not sure if a big part of this is that I haven’t been able to manage my time well – my day starts at 6:30am if not before and I get to relax around 9pm after clothes washing, dinner and sterilising. Weekends are for playing so the week is busy, busy, busy, tiring!

So I’d like to know how you manage your time? How you feel about returning to work and if you have any tips for me!
