As I near 40 I am now doing that typical mid life thing of wishing I had looked after my body and skin a lot more. I have been looking into cruelty free skincare during the last month or so and have recently been invited to test some lovely new products that are on the market.
My priority for any skin/body regime is that it is quick and easy to do, grabbing 5 minutes to do before the school run and then maybe a bit longer on the weekend. Here are the products I have tested…
I have found that after having children I need to give my natural vitamin levels a little boost. Significantly B12 and Vitamin D have been the ones that have an affect on my moods and how I am generally feeling. Taking supplements on a regular basis has helped everything from fatigue to carpal tunnel. I would recommend having your levels tested if you can. if you have little ones at nursery you’ll find that you will also get some knock on sniffles too so Vitamin C is a must to make sure you’re at your best. We all know being ill as a mum really sucks!
For bath or shower the Urban Veda range has been a lovely addition to bath time. I love this range of ayurvedic skincare. The smells are really reminiscence of a spa and my favourite is the turmeric body wash. Each bottles has enough for a full body scrub to leave skin feeling smooth and detoxed. I really enjoyed this range and will be buying some more of them. The gift sized bottles will make a great gift too!
Before I pop on the day’s make up/suncream I have been using this face serum to lift my skin a little. It is easy to apply and is nice and light. I find that it is a good base for the day. One to two pumps of product is enough to make my skin feel great. I also use her Rest and Regenerate too just before bed. I have found her products to last and they just feel so lovely to use.
I will be getting some more once the bottle runs out and would think it would make a great gift in a hamper for a mum to be as well. It made me feel pampered and the packaging looks lovely too! I love the pump as much as you need style packaging too.
Here is my skin after using for a week – I look less tired and brighter around the eyes.
This balm has been great for when I have itchy skin and I have even used it on the kids when they have itchy skin their desperate to scratch after a bump to avoid scarring. It is a great little tube that pops into my handbag.
This lip is now a constant in my bag. My lips tend to dry out quite a bit – could be the weather, could be the chattering – and I have found this NEEK Kiss Me Kiss Me one to be brilliant and giving a delicate colour whilst also nourishing my dry lips. The lipstick is vegan and they’ve even got some fabulous packaging thats made from recycled packaging – a true ethical based brand!
As a set daily routine I have found that these products work well together for me. I love the scent of each, their ease of use and the fact it gives me a little bit of luxury and wellness on a daily basis. I would love to hear how you look after yourself so head over to facebook and share with me!
