I hate swearing…

I occasionly swear, but I have to admit I don’t really like it. I don’t think it suits me.

More often than not I see it on status’ and Twitter and I can get past that but I’m wondering about the influence it can have on our children. What if Fizz goes through what I’ve put down in written form later in life. I want her to feel sentiment and emotions but not thoughts interspersed with hurtful words.

I suppose that’s a thought to put against every word I write…not just the ‘naughty’ ones…

I’m always torn on this. I too hate it around my daughter and, as a compulsive swearer all my life, have worked hard to completely eradicate it from my vocab when I’m around her (and other kids/parents/etc.). But it *can* be very expressive, and funny, and descriptive. I think it’s okay in writing and adult conversation, in moderation. When she’s old enough to read back over my online witterings, I hope I can teach her that my swears have an appropriate context. 🙂

I love, though, and wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment of hurtful words. Less negativity in general is something I always want to strive for where I can.
