Hitting the 5k

I never imagined that 6 weeks ago I would be keen to get up at 6am to go for a run. I even thought I would walk down the road to my nearest park to meet Matt  (my personal trainer).

The first 1.89k took me 15 minutes. A mixture of running and walking – they call this interval training. At by 7:05am we had added another 3k to this. Matt told me I had probably completed my 5k.

6 weeks ago I barely managed 1k. I walked into the gym not knowing how this experience would change me. It makes me feel better about myself. I struggle to begin with then really get into a groove with it.

I have started to do collages of photos to show how I am changing. Some weeks I don’t lose weight but my body is starting to feel better. My recovery from exercise is getting better and I am feeling great. Not getting short of breath as much and also gong to bed later and rising a little earlier. The energy that was once zapped seems to be returning.

Thank you to Sev who tweeted me tonight and others that are supporting me offline too. Every bit of encouragement really does help.

See you tomorrow at 6am?
