I know, I know I can hear you say ‘what, now? We are only just back at school’. But if you are anything like me you’ll be planning on how to make the most of the next school holidays. This summer has been tough, don’t get me wrong and I have felt the pinch of not being in a financial situation where we can go out all the time and do lots of activities. However in the coming week I have an interview for a part time job and am hoping that the next school holidays mean I have a good balance of work and play with the children.
This means I’m looking at cheaper breaks away instead of expensive day trips and taking us all to new City’s in the UK. Liverpool is high on that list as I live with some huge Beatles fans!
Websites like Liverpool ONE and Visit Liverpool are great for helping you search through the options of your stay from events to shopping. I had a look through to see what Beatles options I could find!
So where would we visit?
The Albert Dock for The Beatles Story – not a bad price for a family of 5 at £29.
The Magical Mystery tour – a bus ride of delights for any Beatles fans. This is a bit of a splurge at £18 per person but would be worth it as a special treat!
Or what about a Fab Four taxi tour! This looks a great experience and a bit more intimate.
Gav would definitely want to visit the Cavern Club! This would be £20 each for the ticket price. We would have to seek out some of Liverpool’s live music venues during our stay!
Beatles museum This would definitely be on our list as a place to go and breathe in the Beatles nostalgia.
Of course we would also take in some of the other fab sights of the city as well as the unique shopping experiences that can be found. I also ask around on social media if we are looking for special local events or places to see as the locals always know their stuff!
Where are you planning to visit over half term? Brighton currently has a two week october half term and we are looking for ways to fill it so let me know if you have any great places or ideas for a family of music loving kids!
