You suck as a pregnancy blogger if ….

You don’t instagram your weekly bump shots along with a new outfit in each

Weekly bump shots, a must. Especially when you have new clothes, right?

You don’t video you sharing the news with your other children then plaster their faces tears and all over the blogosphere.

You don’t make a shopping list and send it to every PR going whether you have worked with them before or not

You didn’t take a photo of your pregnancy test to share on the blogDSC_2289

You haven’t had at least one photograph of you waiting for an appointment with the midwife

And one shot of your notes on the way to the scan room

You havent mentioned Netflix in the hope of getting a free subscription to get you through pregnancy insomnia

You haven’t shared a gender reveal in full glory on all social media channels in a unique and creative way
You have individually tweeted all your blogger friends with said scan photo too

You haven’t been offered one tiny pack of nappies or wipes for a review

Piggybacked on a tweet mentioning a buggy swooning I’d love that for bump

IMG_3020

And then publicly embarrassed yourself by asking to review it outright when the PR didn’t offer you it – of course your 100 followers would love to see you use it

You told the blogging world all about your pregnancy before your partner….or family….(or realised you didn’t tell that one friend before hitting publish, ouch)

You haven’t joined in with #blogbumpclub or #rockthebump

As November sees bump become baby at some point I am handing over the reins to the lovely Hannah and Budding Smiles! We will be doing a joint #BlogBumpClub with #MaternityMatters next week and then I’ll be joining over on BuddingSmiles during my last few weeks so please do pay her a visit! Join in with your latest pregnancy and birth blogs below! Link up closes on the 23rd November.

I loved this tongue in cheek blog from Lifestyle and Beauty Blogger Lola and Behold so much it inspired a few new posts under the same idea…

A few months ago now we were offered the chance to have a double buggy I’d been looking at for a while in my local buggy shop Great Expectations (definately worth a visit if you’re expecting and in Brighton!).

We had decided to save money and rely on the – single buggy we already have and a sling instead. A few friends who had doubles had offered us their old tandem style buggy but of course when the offer of a brand new chariot came along we said yes! Fizz really wanted her brothers to have what she calls a double headed buggy and when it arrived on our doorstep she wasn’t disappointed.

We were gifted the Mountain Buggy Duet in Flint and although the buggy itself is good to go from birth we were also sent extras such as a carrycot and a jute bag. Rain covers for both children were also added in to see us through winter.

From box to making up took I would say 15 minutes. It only really needed the wheels added to it. Good to go pretty much straight away. It was easy to unfold and pop the wheels on. That’s pretty much it. The seat units were already attached and you just need to add the hood.

The boy of course was all about playing! We’d had a long week of illness and now was the time for him to want to be involved! So he decided to try out his seat 😉

First Impressions

The seat units for the buggy are slender and the above shows it in single mode with our jute bag. Perfect for nipping to the shops with one child.

You’ve got the roomy Jute which here had Fizzs PE kit in but it fits around two carriers of shopping so that’s a three day shop for us.
The buggy is actually not much wider than our usual single buggy and fits into our hallway easily. This is fab if like us you are lacking in space.

It folds down (without the Jute) and is only a little wider than a single buggy and takes up less space than I had first thought.

I found folding and unfolding incredibly easy as is removing the Jute carrier to fold. From full standing to fold in 2 minutes at most.

The only problem we have now is that the cat loves the shopper!

Our next post will be all about getting out and about with our Mountain Buggy Duet in Single Mode.

A couple of months ago we re started having a date night. The new rule for date night though was that we would pick something different to do or a new place to eat. We take turns in choosing what to do/where to eat so it’s in full control of one of us from booking the babysitter to where we go.

This time on of Gav’s colleagues was graduating from comedy school with a 6 person comedy store style show at The Verdict in Brighton. This cafe is predominately a Jazz cafe. It has your normal daytime feel upstairs and a more intimate room downstairs with tables, chairs and lamps more fitting for a Jazz night.

Gav’s colleague was one of 6 people performing along with a compare. They had all been on a comedy course and this was the show they had been working on leading up to ‘graduation’.

I’ve only been to a few comedy shows before and most of these were 1 person shows where the comic was somebody more well known. It was nice to see some home grown talent (ok so some weren’t from Brighton) and because of the amount of acts no one went home without laughing at at least one of them. From one pun jokes to a full story telling no two comics were the same.

I really did enjoy the show and The Verdict, although slightly on the edge of the town centre, was a great venue for these comedy acts. The room was packed with support, laughter and was a great ‘first’ experience of some of our local comedians. I’ll definitely be going back to The Verdict to support this night again.

Again as with all date nights no phones allowed so sorry no photos!

I’ve missed a couple of months again of this style of post and with November looming we know we have a busy month or two ahead of us.

This month I’ve treated myself to quite a few things material and pamper style and so here are my 5 things.

I’ve had two pregnancy massages. The last one was Tuesday just gone and I’m hopeful to squeeze another one in before baby arrives too. I come home and go straight to bed after and daddy is in charge of bedtime while I’m out. It’s bliss.

Jedi Boy is now settled into nursery twice a week. This means I have some head space without the children. Fizz gets home and I have time with her which is very relaxed.

where are the kids?

I’ve spent money on new clothes and underwear. As a parent I often think of myself last but not during this last stage of pregnancy!

new undies!

I’ve paid off some debt and managed to outsource work ready for maternity leave which means I’ll have a proper amount of time off my freelance work.

working in bed!

And finally I’m being forward on asking when I need things. Another school mum is picking Fizz up 3 times a week after half term. A friend has Fizz on a Wednesday and I’m taxi mum every Friday. It’s nice that I’m feeling able to ask for help and that I have friends that are!

What have you done for you this month? The inspiration for these posts can from @fifimcgee!
